The Gambia will transcend regional boundaries by welcoming competition authorities from across Africa and beyond to Banjul for the Inaugural Annual Conference of the ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority / Autorité Régionale de la Concurrence de la CEDEAO (ERCA/ARCC). This landmark gathering, hosted by a newly established regional competition authority, will focus on shaping the future of fair and competitive markets in West Africa and beyond.

At this inaugural ERCA/ARCC Annual Conference, competition authorities will converge to exchange expertise and best practices, to collectively shape regional and global enforcement approaches, and to build lasting synergies among competition enforcers.

The sessions will provide crucial insights into emerging trends and challenges confronting competition authorities — from digital markets and cross-border cartels to consumer protection in integrating economies — and will explore how these can be addressed to ensure fair, inclusive, and robust competitive markets across the ECOWAS region.
