Secondment on AfCFTA Protocol on Competition Policy to the ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority (M/W)

 I.  OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

  1. The main objectives of this assignment are to:

a)Review the ECOWAS Legal Frameworks on Competition in order to align it with the AfCFTA Protocol on Competition Policy;

b)Within the framework of collaboration between ERCA and the AfCFTA Entity empowered to address Competition matters, provide expert advice and guidance to strengthen this collaboration;

c)Improve the capacities of ERCA, the ECOWAS Commission and Member States in competition compliance and enforcement; and

d)ensure that ERCA can discharge its mandate as provided under its enabling law.
