SAVE THE DATE — Inaugural Annual Conference of the ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority

The ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority (ERCA) is pleased to announce its Inaugural Annual Conference, to be held from 15 to 17 September 2026 at the Conference Center, Banjul, The Gambia, under the theme “Competition Policy and Market Integration in ECOWAS: Issues and Challenges”.

This landmark event will bring together more than 500 regional and international participants and over 25 high-level speakers, including policymakers, competition authorities, regulators, academics, private sector leaders, consumer associations and development partners from across West Africa and beyond.

The Conference aims to foster strategic dialogue on the role of competition policy as a driver of regional market integration, economic growth, consumer welfare and a more competitive business environment within the ECOWAS Common Market.

Key topics will include the harmonization of competition rules, the enforcement of community regulations, cross-border anti-competitive practices, merger control, the digital economy and the protection of consumers.
